The configuration of a traditional office environment can hinder the way companies work and conduct business. The idea that people are expected to work together is challenging in a traditional work space. The segregation of employees and the politics associated with the workplace hierarchy all fail to unify a workforce. Research has shown that more people prefer an open, modern office environment as opposed to a traditional, closed-off space.

People still need access to private work spaces, an escape from distractions and a balance between interaction and privacy.
